ResearchStudio-Idea is a reusable workflow for the first mile of machine-learning research. It combines Paper-Search for multi-source literature retrieval, Scoop-Check for prior-art collision checking, and IdeaSpark for end-to-end proposal generation and auditing. The authors analyze 1,947 ICLR, ICML, and NeurIPS papers from 2021–2025, covering Oral papers, a separately tracked high-citation subset, and rejected submissions. They identify 31 recurring ideation sub-patterns and consolidate them into 15 structured patterns. According to the abstract, blind automated-judge evaluations show stronger proposals than no-skill and generic-skill baselines, with competitive novelty.
