Grading the Narrators: An Isnad-Rijal Framework for Claim-Level Provenance in Multi-Agent Knowledge Systems

This paper maps concepts from Islamic hadith scholarship to provenance in multi-agent knowledge systems. It proposes claim-level transmission chains, domain-specific narrator grading, completeness semantics, transformation-typed aggregation, independent-chain corroboration, separate content criticism, and serve/review/quarantine routing. An evaluation on 20,000 claims from real physics textbooks reports support for weakest-link quarantine and independent-chain corroboration. However, the grade-recovery loop missed the highest-fault narrator, and two analyses were inconclusive, including a matched-coverage comparison that the framework could not complete with the reference content critic.
