Google says AI-powered security analysis is sharply increasing the number of vulnerabilities found in Chrome. Chrome milestones 149 and 150 reportedly fixed 1,072 bugs in total, more than the previous 23 releases combined. One issue had remained in the codebase for 13 years and could potentially have allowed an attacker to bypass Chrome’s sandbox and access local files. Google is considering more frequent updates and mechanisms that reduce or eliminate the user disruption normally associated with browser restarts.
