As autonomous coding agents like Claude Code and Codex increasingly require terminal access and file system privileges, securing the host environment has become an immediate concern. Security firm Trail of Bits has open-sourced Coop, a utility providing isolated VM environments tailored to safely contain these agents' shell execution and file modifications without completely derailing developer workflows.
