AgentTrails: Towards Trust and Reuse for Agentic Tasks

First seen · 7/21/2026, 03:53 PMLatest activity · 7/21/2026, 03:53 PM

AgentTrails is a prototype system for improving provenance, understanding, and reuse of agentic workflows. It transforms chronological agent logs into structured provenance graphs, representing tool calls as computational actions and their inputs and outputs as data artifacts. Multiple executions can be placed on a shared canvas and aligned through a joined quotient graph that identifies recurring tools, artifacts, and dependency structures. The authors demonstrate the system on real-world agent trajectories, reporting that it exposes hidden dependencies, aligns divergent executions, and reveals recurring tool-use patterns that are difficult to observe in ordinary logs.
