South Korea’s Digital Daily reportedly said Apple negotiated with China’s CXMT over mobile DRAM, including LPDDR5X, for next-generation iPhones and other devices. CXMT allegedly rejected further price cuts and insisted on pricing at or near Samsung Electronics and SK hynix levels. The report attributes CXMT’s bargaining position to long-term orders from Chinese manufacturers such as Huawei and Xiaomi. It also cites Counterpoint data showing Samsung held 39% of global DRAM revenue in 2026 Q2, SK hynix 26%, and Micron 25%, while CXMT’s revenue reportedly rose 716% year over year.
