The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) announced the launch of an Autonomous Driving Industry Development Coordination Committee during the 16th China Automotive Forum in Shanghai’s Jiading district. The committee is intended to bring together automakers, autonomous-driving solution providers, chip and sensor companies, software and communications firms, testing and certification organizations, universities, and research institutes. CAAM says it will focus on policy coordination, major issue research, technical collaboration, priority use cases, and ecosystem development, with safety, regulatory compliance, validation, and commercialization among the shared challenges.
