PLACEMEM: Toward a Compute-Aware Memory Plane for Lifelong Agents

First seen · 7/5/2026, 10:55 AMLatest activity · 7/5/2026, 10:55 AM

PLACEMEM presents a systems position for lifelong-agent memory built around versioned “capsules” that unify semantics, provenance, validity, and reusable runtime state. Its executable, vLLM-first control-plane prototype supports prompt-level text retrieval, KV-aware routing, cascading invalidation across live streamed backends, persistent capsule state, concurrency-safe correction, an OpenAI-compatible routing sidecar, and a typed metadata contract. The accompanying harness measures live first-token latency, reuse, and post-correction behavior. Prospective layer-frontier replay is explicitly described as future integration work, not as an implemented engine capability.
