Google has launched version 1.0 of the Agent Development Kit (ADK) for Kotlin, bringing it to feature parity with the existing Python and Java cores. Built on Kotlin Multiplatform, the framework uses Kotlin Symbol Processing for compile-time, zero-reflection function calling, alongside context compaction and human-in-the-loop workflows. For Android engineers, it links LiteRT-LM for on-device execution, Firebase AI for cloud reasoning, and AppSearch for semantic retrieval—providing an idiomatic path to run agentic architectures natively on mobile devices.
