UOT-IR: Structured Routing of High-Polyphony Symbolic Music into Fixed-Budget Representations

First seen · 8/1/2026, 06:29 PMLatest activity · 8/1/2026, 06:29 PM

This paper reframes high-polyphony symbolic music compression as a fixed-budget structured routing problem and introduces UOT-IR, a training-free framework based on constrained unbalanced optimal transport. It combines an orchestration prior, adaptive marginal relaxation, temporal decoding, and a playability-aware projection. The method is evaluated in template standardization and adaptive preservation settings under the same slot budget. On the SymphonyNet corpus, the paper reports a best adaptive-preservation Note-F1 of 0.9120, while template standardization achieves the lowest structural cost, 14.7165, and bad structural confusion rate, 0.3406.
