IBM Releases SOTA Granite Time Series Model PatchTST-FM-r2 Under Commercial License

IBM Research has introduced PatchTST-FM-r2, an updated time-series foundation model released under its Granite umbrella with a commercially friendly license. Built on the PatchTST architecture, the model targets core forecasting and representation tasks across enterprise operational data. In an ecosystem dominated by multimodal and language models, this update provides a practical, open-weight building block for numerical time-series pipelines.
