IT Home reported on October 26 that SpaceX officially announced today, local time, a financing arrangement reached with alternative asset management giant Apollo.
Under a binding commitment between the two parties, SpaceX and Apollo will enter into a master lease agreement for GPUs and related equipment valued at approximately $40 billion (IT Home note: currently about 267.098 billion RMB), with the formal signing expected to take place in 2026.
This largest-ever GPU financing agreement will provide next-generation NVIDIA Vera Rubin chips for SpaceX’s terrestrial computing infrastructure. The lease program is expected to commence in the first half of 2027 following the delivery of the GPUs and related equipment.
SpaceX Chief Financial Officer Bret Johnsen stated:
SpaceX is dedicated to deploying the world's largest computing infrastructure. As demand for compute continues to accelerate, we are seeing payback periods on integrated systems infrastructure compress to less than one year.
This lease agreement not only diversifies our capital sources, but also addresses a substantial portion of the capital required to achieve our growth plans. We are working at a record pace to bring more compute online to support enterprise and consumer Grok services, as well as to power our existing and future cloud customers.
